Tourism can be of great benefit to the areas we visit often poor by our standards and it is our responsibility to ensure that our travels respect the way of life of the traditional communities we visit and leave minimal environmental impact. We build this into our itineraries and work diligently to develop tourism in a sustainable way.
Our holidays can form an essential part of regional economies and we can influence the way local communities develop by our spending choices. At New Worlds we build upon personal relationships and friendships with local suppliers of goods and services, staying at small family run hotels wherever possible, and using local guides, porters and agents who share our philosophies and values.
We have chosen to support charities and small projects that are easily accessible from the most popular itineraries and that have a lasting impact to the local community. If you are inclined, you are welcome to visit one of these charities where you are sure to receive a warm welcome.
We are proud to have a vested interest in responsible tourism and it will remain at the top of our list of priorities.

The Uros-Uruitos people of Bolivia are the most ancient people on the continent, tracing their distinctive Òfloating islandÓ civilization back as early as 8000 BC. With only 32 families surviving today, this unique culture are in danger of disappearing forever. A sustainable tourism project on Lake Titicaca is working with the Uros-Uruitos people to preserve their culture by helping them to generate income using traditional skills, as well as providing educational and medical support.
There are many disadvantaged and street children in Ecuador and the Anglo-Ecuadorian Society was established to support projects benefiting local children. The Society makes regular donations to various local charities, including nurseries for under-privileged children living in Quito, where the Society specifically pays for the daily services of a doctor, a training centre for Quito street children, and the International ChildrenÕs Trust for Juconi, Ecuador.

We support Climate Care, a global charity who redress or 'offset' the carbon emissions (green house gases) from all our flights. Climate Care's main purpose is to enable projects that will help reduce the build up of carbon dioxide. These include reforestation and community based initiatives to reduce the amount of wood used in cooking. Greenhouse gases are the main cause of global warming and it seems sensible to start your holiday as you mean to continue.
