Currently the only hotel option in the tiny old city of Remedios, the quaint Hotel Mascotte is a simple but charming colonial style hotel. Considered one of Cuba's colonial gems, the town is one of the oldest in Cuba and has avoided development, retaining many of the original features and atmosphere of this delightful area. Located on the main square, the two star hotel has been recently refurbished retaining many original features, including square columns, soaring arches and even the occasional four poster bed. Potted plants abound in the spacious open areas. All ten rooms offer air-conditioning, bathroom and telephone.

This luxury four star resort is terraced on a tropically forested mountainside on a beautiful sandy beach. This imposing 1950's hotel was built by Batista's brother in a spectacular location on the Bay of Cienfuegos, with the city centre just minutes away. One of the best hotels in central Cuba, this six story hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms with balconies and lovely views of the bay and city. The hotel was formerly a deluxe gambling joint frequented by high rollers from Havana and Miami. The location is superb, situated high on a hill that provides an unparalleled view of the historic town and the Caribbean Sea. Climate
The tropical climate means that you can enjoy Cuba most of the year around. The hot, rainy season runs from May to October but winter (December to April) is the island's peak tourist season.
Cubans take their holidays in July and August, so this is the time to mingle with the locals on their beaches.
Fiesta and celebration periods are during Christmas, Easter and the period around 26 July, when Cubans celebrate the anniversary of the revolution.
