Pucon
Hotel Antumalal
This gorgeous four star hotel was designed as a tribute to Bauhaus architecture: modern form and function completely integrated with its surroundings. Hotel Huincahue
This elegant yet homey three star hotel is ideal for those who like to be at the centre of the action. Hotel Huincahue is located in the centre of town, just steps from all the shops and restaurants, in a quiet and sophisticated setting right on the main plaza. The spacious rooms have pleasant beige carpets and nice wrought-iron and wood furniture, and a few have spectacular views of the volcano. Second-floor rooms have small balconies. The marble bathrooms are large and many have windows as well. Hotel facilities include a restaurant and bar, lovely outdoor pool, room service, massage, babysitting and laundry service.

A friendly and accessible family-run hotel, it offers twenty four comfortable rooms and all amenities including a heated swimming pool. Located just fifty metres from Villarica Lake, this is a good choice for a mid-range hotel.

This three star Hotel is located in the Puerto Varas city centre on the shore of stunning Lake Llanquihue. A funky three star hotel in Castro that oozes character, the sugary pink and blue Hotel Unicornio Azul is housed in a pretty Victorian building situated right on the waterfront. The rooms upstairs come with balconies overlooking the water, with showers only, while the downstairs rooms are newly carpeted and some have bathtubs as well as showers. The funky interiors are decorated with framed prints of unicorns. This highly individual hotel is claimed by some guests to be the best place to stay in Castro. Facilities include a restaurant and twenty four hour room service.

Climate
There are no absolute rules in this equatorial climate - it is mostly warm, except in the highlands, and divided into wet and dry periods which vary by area. The weather is spring-like most of the year in Quito and the central highlands. The highlandsę dry season (the best time for hiking and climbing) is June to September. The Amazon region is wet and hot all year round, but especially from June to September.
